Open Call for Submissions from artists all over the USA for a juried exhibit, Color, in the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) gallery  – an 8,000 sf Civil War-era warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront.   With its trendy restaurants, bars, boutiques and billion dollar view of the Statue of Liberty and New YorkHarbor, it’s an exciting place to visit and EXHIBIT.  The enormous space of the gallery affords us the opportunity to exhibit really huge work, and we welcome it.

About The Juror
Lauren Hinkson is the Assistant Curator for Collections at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. She conducts permanent collection research with a focus on contemporary and time-based art. She also works closely with the museum’s acquisition committees and organizes presentations of works from the Guggenheim collection for venues worldwide.

ELIGIBILITY: This call for submission is open to all residents of the U.S. and its Territories, 18 years of age or older. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all traditional and non-traditional 2D and 3D media, including film/video when part of an installation. All artwork must be original in concept, design and execution.

SUBMISSIONS AND FEES: Only original works may be submitted.  The Early Bird discounted fee is $45 if received by midnight, May  19, 2014 PST.  The regular fee is $65. The fee is for up to three (3) images, plus $5 for each additional image. All entries must be registered/received by midnight, June 2, 2014 PST.   All entry fees are non-refundable.

Breaking Boundaries / Femmes à l’honneur: Henri Gueguen – a Solo Exhibition presents the work of a French artist whose fascination with the female form, which originated in his memories of his bigoudène grandmother wearing her traditional headdress, has developed into beautiful and inspiring artworks based on the female form and notable women of the twentieth century.

The exhibitions open on October 29, 2013 and continue until November 19, 2013, with a reception on the evening of Thursday November 7, 2013, at 6-8PM. Entrance is free and art enthusiasts are warmly invited to attend and experience these original and compelling works of art.

Agora Gallery is a fine art gallery, established in 1984 and located in the heart of New York City’s Chelsea art galleries district. AWARDS: $1,000 Arthur Griffin Legacy Award, $500 Griffin Award

ELIGIBILITY: This Call for Entries is open to all photographers. Entrants must be members of the Griffin Museum of Photography (with an expiration after 4/1/2012) The Griffin Museum invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome. We encourage submitting images from a singular body of work for a cohesive selection for the Juried Exhibition. A unified body of photographs indicates to the juror you’ve carefully considered your selected edit and are committed to your photography. Artwork selected for gallery exhibition will be limited to FRAMED SIZE of 30x40in.

JUROR: Paul Kopeikin, Kopeikin Gallery

Paul Kopeikin has owned and directed the Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles since 1991. He has mounted over 150 exhibitions of classic, modern and contemporary photography and works on paper. This includes exhibitions by such luminaries as Diane Arbus, Garry Winnogrand, Helen Levitt, Lee Friedlander, Weegee, Marion Post Wolcott and Ralph Eugene Meatyard. Contemporary artists Chris Jordan, Amy Stein and Jill Greenberg all got their start at the gallery. The gallery has participated in numerous art fairs and Mr. Kopeikin has juried numerous exhibitions. And yet he never tires of more.

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $15 for 5 images. Members at the Dual level ($75) and above may submit up to 8 images.
