Description
The Fund considers proposals from professional artists who have secured tangible prospects for advancing their careers, but lack sufficient financial resources to capitalize on those opportunities. Examples include but are not limited to: the completion of work due to a gallery, museum, or private collection, the transportation of work or of the artist to an exhibition of that artist’s material, the management of logistical or technical requirements to realize a project, etc. The Fund does not support performance, literary or commercial work.

Who Should Apply?
Professional painters, artists working on paper and sculptors who:

  • Employ traditional media, not including photography, film or video.
  • Have received opportunities to exhibit their work
  • Are pursuing specific opportunities for which support from The Fund would make a tangible difference

Submission Requirements:

  • Fiscal Sponsor: The Fund cannot make awards to individuals.
  • Artist Statement
  • Request for Support, including a detailed proposal and images, if available
  • Examples of previous work
  • Resume/CV
  • Budget
  • Supporting materials, if relevant (letter of intent from a gallery, commission statement, referrals, references, etc.)

GEometric ABstraction vs. ABstract EXpressionism 

ELIGIBILITY : 
  • Open to abstract artists, 18 years of age or older from around the world who submit artwork in the following media: Painting, Drawing, Digital art, Photography, Mixed Media  & Sculpture (stone, wood, metal, glass, mixed media, etc). Entry fee is required.

  • Artists should submit works in one category only: Either in Geometric or Expressionist. 

  • All work must be original, created by the artist (preferably made in last two years), signed by the artist and available for sale. Reproductions of original artwork, such as giclee prints of original paintings, will not be accepted.

  • Digital art must be original artwork that is created exclusively on a computer, and must be signed. Original, limited edition prints of digital art will be permitted, and must be signed and numbered as part of an edition.

  • Photographs must be signed and numbered and must be the artist’s original image. Artists are encouraged to identify clearly whether a photographic print is produced digitally or through a traditional photographic process (silver print, Polaroid, dye-transfer, etc.)

  • size limit FOR MEDIA OTHER THAN SCULPTURE/ 59″ OR 150CM IN ANY DIRECTION.

  • Dimensions & weight limits for sculptures: 39.4″ or 100cm  x 19.7″ or 50cm & 66.14 lb or 30kg

►Open to all artists from around the world, 18 yrs of age and older.
►Eligible media : Painting, drawing, photography, digital art, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles, mixed-media.
►Media not accepted : Giclee prints, video/film and live performance pieces.
►All work must be original, and executed by the artist (preferably made in last two years) No reproductions accepted.
►Digital art must be original artwork that is created exclusively on a computer, and must be signed. Original, limited edition prints of digital art will be permitted, and must be signed and numbered as part of an edition.
►Photographs must be signed and numbered and must be the artist’s original image. Artists are encouraged to identify clearly whether a photographic print is produced digitally or through a traditional photographic process (silver print, Polaroid, dye-transfer, etc.).
►All work must not have been used for any commercial purposes.
►All work must be for sale with price indicated.(keep in mind that EWNS Art Project receives 30 per cent commission of works sold).
►A coherent set of artworks, executed in a contemporary way.
►Resident artists & artists who previously submitted artwork must resubmit.
►Artists must submit a minimum of 3 images per medium that best represents their work and pay a non-refundable entry fee of 30 euros minimum (via PayPal)
►Each artist can participate in multiple categories, with a maximum of 10 pieces/category (to be submitted separately).
►Dimensions & weight: Maximum size limitations 40″ in or 100cm in any direction, Maximum weight limitations 110lbs / 50 kg).
►EWNS will not accept items for hanging using saw-tooth hooks or inadequate wiring. All framed works must be properly wired for display.
►Publishers, galleries, agents, and collectors may not submit artwork on behalf of artists.
►Entries must be submitted via email.
