Gallery 263 is pleased to offer our 700-square foot space to artists of all media and experience levels for 6 weeks in the Summer of 2015.  We strive to give the local Boston and Cambridge community a stake in the process, not just the product, of art making.  Enjoy a comfortable, collaborative environment in which to incubate ideas, fuel discussion, and produce new work.  This is a non-live-in, shared residency opportunity, and will be awarded to up to four solo artists or to one collective of artists.  Artists benefit from full access to our space and amenities, engage the public with at least one outreach event, and conclude their stay with a showcase.

Residency Period: 6 weeks; June 1- July 11, 2015

Thanks to a generous grant from the Cambridge Arts Council, Gallery 263 has been able to cut Residency fees to artists by more than 50% this year.

2015 Studio Fee:  $150 per artist for a residency with four artists ($150 x 4 = $600) OR $600 assessed to a collective of artists

Physical amenities include high tin ceilings and incredible natural light, great community visibility, wireless internet, A/C, plentiful outlets, mini fridge, kitchenware, microwave, approx. 25 folding chairs available, bathroom with toilet, large sink & hot water.

Our supportive staff will help to plan and promote your outreach event and showcase, and is available for discussion and critique throughout the Residency period.
Qualifications:
Be an emerging, working artist.
Have a secure living situation for the duration of the Residency.
Work well in a shared space situation.
Have a digital portfolio ready to submit to our online application process.

Gallery 263 is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to providing a space for local and regional artists of all mediums to exhibit their work and engage the community.

Our Artist Residency offers a unique opportunity to work with other artists and develop either individual or group projects over six weeks in the heart of Cambridge.

700-square-foot gallery/studio space, accepting 3-5 solo applicants or a group/collective of up to 12 artists, to share the space for 6 weeks: June 1 through July 12. Work-only: artists must be living or planning to live in the Boston area for the duration of the residency.

Gallery 263 is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2013 Artist Residence Program.

Since 2010, twice a year Gallery 263 opens its 700 square-foot gallery space as an incubator for the creative production of 3-5 emerging artists. Participating artists benefit by having full access* to a versatile workspace with high ceilings, natural light, and community visibility.

Gallery 263’s Artist Residence Program is ideal for those whose creative practice embraces collaborative projects, community engagement, or are open to sharing space with other artists. Our first-floor storefront space allows for the artistic process to be on view for the neighborhood, investing the gallery’s local audience with a stake in the process, not just the product, of art making.

This is a work only residence, and preference will be given to emerging artist living in the Metro-Boston area. Artists coming from outside the region must secure local housing on their own.

Residency length / dates: 5 weeks, August 12—September 15, 2013

Number of Residents: 3 to 5. This is a shared group residence. Residents share the studio for the entire period.

Studio Fee: $275 per resident. This fee will be assessed to each artist at the beginning of the residency which contributes to rent and utilities for the residence period. This fee is comparable to the cost of a studio sublet in the area. Partial scholarships may be available.

Deadline: March 30 – TM13 ART CONTEST – PALERMO

The Temporary Museum publishes the competition TM13, for artists, with the aim of promoting and appreciating Contemporary Art.

The competition involves the selection of 120 works, divided into three sections: Painting, Video and Photography, the realization of these three exhibitions, the publication of the catalogue, the broadcasting of the events on an official web TV channel, a facebook page and a youtube channel, which will give space for images, interviews, and the publication of works on the site www.temporarymuseum.es

The winner of the contest participants of TM13, will win a stay of 15 days in Palermo, an office of 300 sqm located in the historic center, which is available for the artist as a laboratory and a home.
The exhibition of the finalists’ works, the voting and the awarding of the prize will take place in Palermo.

The competition is open to adult artists, Italians or foreigners residing in Italy or abroad.

The residency will be 20 days long in a beautiful 4 star castle, close to the Austrian border.  Closing exhibition is organized in Budapest at a well known downtown gallery!
3 meal/day, transportation from/to Graz or Vienna Airport, local transportation, studio and exhibition is offered in the price.  Also, you can participate in a special Anti-Aging, wellness, massage, fitness program, that you need to indicate at your application form.  It is an extra cost.
