Exhibition Rules

Established and emerging artists, working in any media are encouraged to submit artwork, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, printmaking, design, photography, ceramics, sculpture, fiber, and video as long as the piece follows the guidelines below.

– Both 2D and 3D artwork will be accepted.

– All 2D artwork must be able to hang on the wall, and be no larger then 6′ x 6′ in size.

– All 3D artwork must be able to either sit on a pedestal of 12″ x 12″, or be able to be free standing within our gallery space.

– All artwork must arrive to the gallery ready to hang or display, with proper wiring and hanging systems, or displaying instructions.

– Artists can submit 2 pieces with a submission fee of $15, and up to 2 additional pieces at $5 each. Payment can be made through Paypal at the end of the submission form. Fees are nonrefundable.

– All artwork should be clearly labeled with the following: artist’s name, artwork title, medium, dimensions, date of completion, and sale price.

– All artwork will remain in the gallery for the entire time period of the exhibition.

– All artists are responsible for both initial and return shipping of any artwork that is sent to the gallery. Please include any return shipping labels with your artwork.

– The Franklin Arts Center Resident Artists Gallery retains 25% commission of any sales made during the exhibition.

The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) is excited to announce our first really Affordable Art Show, a national juried show opening October 3, 2015.

Our juror is Carolyn Ramo, Executive Director of Artadia, a not-for-profit organization which has awarded over $3 million to more than 300 artists. Ramo was a partner at Taxter & Spengemann, a contemporary art gallery that focused on emerging artists, and the Production Director at David Zwirner gallery. Ms. Ramo has also worked at Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

This is a selling show with art priced for anyone and everyone. Thousands of NY art lovers and collectors will see your work up close and personal. It is time to expand your collector base in NYC. To make it easy for new collectors, all work submitted must be for sale at $499 or less. You will get 75% of the selling price.

We really love art – in all media. As well as looking for skill in the use of a variety of materials, we look for how well that medium relates to the concept or movement, and how fully the artist’s intention or concept is presented and realized. The juror’s awards will reflect that artistic judgment. Virtually every medium is accepted including: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Photography, Pastel, Drawing, Print, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Assemblage and Fabric.

really Affordable Art Show: The broad theme encompasses all the possibilities of your imagination – allowing you to think, play and create outside the box with few inhibitions, restrictions, rules, or guidelines. Just set yourself free to explore the possibilities of creativity and let Ms Ramo put together an exciting show. She may select none, just one or several from any artist. She does not see the artist’s name when making the selection for the show.

For this exhibition, we are seeking artwork that depicts the history, energy and excitement, as well as the many bizarre aspects of the old time Carnivale and side show acts. The New Bohemian Gallery presents our October exhibition, Cloak-And-Dagger. We are seeking artwork that relates and responds to the title, Cloak-And-Dagger, in one way or another. Artists may interrupt this in either a metaphorical or literal way. From artwork that has a sense of mystery, intrigue, espionage, or a secret unknown meaning, or pieces that relate back to early 19th century history, where the term originally comes from a European martial arts practice, including both of these items.

The Franklin Arts Center Resident Artists Gallery, presents, Lush Vibes, our 2014 Spring Juried Exhibition. This year, we are excited to announce that Casey Hochhalter will be our guest juror for this exhibition. We invite artists from all over, working in all mediums, to submit artwork to be juried into this exhibition. There is no particular theme for this show, and please note that artwork does not need to be “spring related”, but artwork that uses bright and bold colors is encouraged. This group exhibition will be on display in our back gallery space throughout the month of April.

Casey Hochhalter, Guest Juror

Casey Hochhalter is a ceramic artist, primarily working in abstract sculpture, while focusing on investigating the interaction of nature’s systems and the immensity of imagination. Hochhalter received his Masters of Fine Arts in ceramics from Illinois State University in Normal and his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Minnesota State University in Mankato. His sculptures have been included in many exhibitions around the United States, as well as publications. Some of these select exhibitions include those at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, San Angelo, Texas and The Clay Studio, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well participating in a collaborative project titled “Time Immemorial”, at NCECA 2012, in Seattle, Washington. Recently he completed research supported by the Jerome Ceramic Artist Project Grant awarded by the Northern Clay Center. He currently has artwork on display in a contemporary ceramics exhibition at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota. Hochhalter is also currently the Art Instructor at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minnesota.

The Franklin Arts Center Resident Artists Gallery is a small art gallery located within the Franklin Arts Center, in Brainerd, Minnesota. As a gallery we strive to bring all people together through art. The Resident Artists Gallery focuses on presenting interesting and exciting exhibitions to the local community, and all who enter our doors. Through these shows, the gallery shows artwork by artists living and working within the Franklin Arts Center building, as well as bringing in other artists from the community and elsewhere to combine creative forces, and open people up to new artists, artwork, and creative ideas that they may have never experienced before.

Deadline: June 15 – Call for Entries – Int’l Juried Online Digital Art & Photography Competition “True Colors 2”

Digital Arts: California invites emerging and established digital artists, worldwide, to submit their work to our juried online exhibit “True Colors 2“.

Digital Arts: California encourages entries emphasizing color as an important element, and using any of a wide range of digital processes: digital illustration, photo manipulation, fractals, vector art, digital photography, HDR, light painting, CGI, Photoshop, etc.   Top finalists receive a Gold Stellar Art Award or Stellar Art Award, and widespread personalized publicity (local, regional, international).  All finalists are showcased  in personal, solo galleries, with top winners to be showcased in a physical gallery in a California art center such as Los Angeles, San Francisco or San Diego.

We have a broad international presence: our current show, “Simply the Best 2”, showcases talented digital artists from 27 countries, with online visits from 1,200 countries in 94 countries.
