The gallery received submissions from 27 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 43 different states. Overall, there were 1,145 entries were judged for this art competition.

Deadline: Feb. 9, 2015 – G25N’s First Semi-Annual (no theme) Group Exhibit

Art-Competition.net: Announces a call to artists/photographers for a “Semi-Annual Open Group Exhibit” at G25N’s online gallery that will consist of ten artists/photographers’ work.  Submission deadline: 02/09/15 (Midnight EST).

Artists/Photographers are invited to submit work from now through February 9, 2015. There is no limit on the number of entries; the curator and judges will choose 2 to 5 images from each of the ten selected artists/photographers that will be in the group exhibit.

Theme and Selection: There is “no theme” for this exhibition it is open to all subject matter. The curator and judges will select work based on the uniqueness of the vision conveyed, the quality of execution and how clearly the artist’s individual technique/style is presented in each work. ABOUT FRESH ARTS’ EXHIBITIONS SERIES

Through its exhibition series, Fresh Arts seeks to provide emerging artists with a flexible gallery space to show their work outside of a commercial setting. We present four to six cutting edge exhibitions or creative projects each year in our 800 square foot gallery. The goal of the exhibition series is to present new, underrepresented, and innovative work in a variety of mediums from emerging artists, collectives, or curators. We prioritize uniqueness of artistic vision over commercial viability and strive to create a supportive environment in which artists may experiment, collaborate, and take creative risks.

In furthering its mission to provide professional development opportunities for artists, Fresh Arts dedicates time and resources to mentoring each exhibiting artist through the process of presenting a public exhibition, from marketing, to pricing, presentation techniques, lighting, cultivating clientele, and more. After having an exhibition at Fresh Arts, emerging artists will have greater insight into the professional exhibition process and be better equipped to meet their professional goals.

ABOUT THE GALLERY

The gallery at Fresh Arts is located within Winter Street Studios (2101 Winter Street) in the designated Arts District of Houston’s Historic First Ward.

SELECTIONS CRITERIA: HOW WE CHOOSE

All complete proposals submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by a panel of jurors for exhibitions to be scheduled from June 2014 through March 2015. We are primarily seeking artists who are not/have never been represented by a gallery, have not been included in any museum collections, and those without an extensive CV or extensive exhibitions history.

Fresh Arts’ will consider exhibition proposals from:

Individual artists (or art collectives) living in and around Houston who are not/have never been represented by a gallery, have not been included in any museum collections, and those without an extensive CV or exhibitions history.

Independent curators living in and around Houston who are proposing an exhibition of emerging artists(see above)

Artists of all disciplines (installation, video, paint, 2-D, 3-D, photo, dance, vocal performance, conceptual, performance, or multi-disciplinary)

Fresh Arts seeks work that is:

  • New
  • Underrepresented
  • Comprised of work that has not been shown publicly in Houston before

NOTE: If you are proposing an site-specific installation, you must submit the following information to be considered:

  • Equipment needed and the plan to provide it
  • Photos of any previous installations
  • A project description detailing your vision of the completed installation and demonstrating your ability to fulfill that vision.

EXHIBITIONS EXPECTATIONS AND COMMITMENTS

If selected for an exhibition, the artist and Fresh Arts agree to the following:

All selected artists are to:

  • Have an updated profile in Fresh Arts’ Artist Registry (This is free with an Artist Membership, which is awarded to those selected for exhibition.)
  • Agree to attend meetings with Fresh Arts in person to plan exhibition and create/refine all relevant materials
  • Provide Fresh Arts with necessary images, bios, CV, and other exhibition related materials by stated deadlines
  • Collaborate with Fresh Arts to create a press release, which Fresh Arts agrees to distribute to a targeted media list.
  • collaborate with Fresh Arts to promote the exhibition through social media and postcard distribution.
  • Cover certain costs associated with the exhibition including: installation, framing, display supplies, and hanging.
  • Return the gallery to its original condition following the exhibition (patch holes/re-install any removed gallery lighting/repaint, etc.)
  • Commit to participate in any gallery sitting associated with gallery hours agreed upon by the artist and Fresh Arts (specifically, the artist will be present for any Winter Street Studio’s Second Saturday Open Studio events)

Fresh Arts agrees to:

  • Provide a $250 honorarium per exhibition
  • Assist exhibiting party with refining exhibition materials (artist bio, artist statement, press release, etc.)
  • Cover the cost of designing and printing exhibition postcard
  • Cover the design and cost of basic vinyl lettering/signage for the exhibition
  • Feature the event on its website, social media channels, and email and provide public relations and marketing support
  • Provide beverages for the opening reception (beer, wine, sodas, water); food (if desired) is the artist’s responsibility
  • Process payments for any sales made during the exhibition

During the run of the show, for this collaboration, Fresh Arts will receive 25% of all sales.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an art call for the gallery’s 3rd Annual “Animals” Juried Art Competition for the month of September 2013.  The gallery invites all 2D artists (including photography) from around the world to make online submissions for inclusion in to the Gallery’s October 2013 online group art exhibition.

Light Space & Time encourages entries from artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field to send us your best interpretation of the theme “Animals”.  Animal subjects would include mammals, birds and any animals that live in the water.

The deadline to apply to this art competition is September 26, 2013.

►Open to all artists from around the world, 18 yrs of age and older.
►Eligible media : Painting, drawing, photography, digital art, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles, mixed-media.
►Media not accepted : Giclee prints, video/film and live performance pieces.
►All work must be original, and executed by the artist (preferably made in last two years) No reproductions accepted.
►Digital art must be original artwork that is created exclusively on a computer, and must be signed. Original, limited edition prints of digital art will be permitted, and must be signed and numbered as part of an edition.
►Photographs must be signed and numbered and must be the artist’s original image. Artists are encouraged to identify clearly whether a photographic print is produced digitally or through a traditional photographic process (silver print, Polaroid, dye-transfer, etc.).
►All work must not have been used for any commercial purposes.
►All work must be for sale with price indicated.(keep in mind that EWNS Art Project receives 30 per cent commission of works sold).
►A coherent set of artworks, executed in a contemporary way.
►Resident artists & artists who previously submitted artwork must resubmit.
►Artists must submit a minimum of 3 images per medium that best represents their work and pay a non-refundable entry fee of 30 euros minimum (via PayPal)
►Each artist can participate in multiple categories, with a maximum of 10 pieces/category (to be submitted separately).
►Dimensions & weight: Maximum size limitations 40″ in or 100cm in any direction, Maximum weight limitations 110lbs / 50 kg).
►EWNS will not accept items for hanging using saw-tooth hooks or inadequate wiring. All framed works must be properly wired for display.
►Publishers, galleries, agents, and collectors may not submit artwork on behalf of artists.

The Countryside Art Exhibition Now Online and Ready to View

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its November 2012 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online.  The subject for this art exhibition is “Countryside” and artists were asked to submit their best interpretation of this theme by depicting rural living, rustic charm, the outdoors and pastoral scenes in their submissions to this competition. 

An art competition was held in October 2012 which determined and judged the art for this exhibition. The gallery received submissions from ­­12 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 34 different states. Overall, there were 455 entries from 140 different artists that were judged for this art competition.
